Missions

MAG Isover, a company part of the Saint-Gobain group based in Japan, is producing and selling Glasswool which is widely used as an insulation material for buildings and industrial plants for reducing energy consumption.

The market is growing and this trend is expected to continue for many years thanks to the global requirement for enhanced energy efficiency towards the 2050 carbon neutrality target.

In the plant, the Technical Project Team is in charge for delivering sustainable Glasswool product as well as manufacturing process. To meet increasing customer requirements, the team is leading development initiatives to optimize product design, with adapted production processes such as glass melting, fiberizing, binding, curing, to achieve stable quality with optimal cost, line efficiencies, energy consumption, and overall productivity.

As a Process & Project Engineer VIE, you will be part of our Technical Project Team, focusing on our Glasswool insulation line located in Tsuchiura.

Working closely with our Technical Project Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
  • Leading mid-term development projects to optimize process and products;
  • Conducting intensive studies to analyze the quality and process linked to insulation products;
  • Acting as a hub to facilitate collaboration between the French R&D center and the local team;
  • Assisting the Production team with the implementation of process standardization and providing them with relevant training;
  • Conducting trials and experiments in partnership with various teams within MAG Isover (Marketing, Production, Engineering, Quality, Energy champion) to enhance and stabilize product quality;
  • Developing and implementing some Statistical Process Control tools to monitor process and product quality with full use of digital tools;
  • Supporting the deployment of the Best Available Technologies.
Extra information :
  • This is a 12-month mission, with the possibility of extension for 12 more months.

Profil recherché

If you’re ready to take on this exciting challenge and drive innovation within our organization, we truly encourage you to apply!
  • You hold an Engineering degree (focused on Material Science, Chemical, Process Engineering, Industrial or any related field)
  • You could acquire the general scientific knowledge (thermodynamics, physics, statistics)
  • You have a first experience in the industrial field (quality control, process control, cost analysis, Industry 4.0)
  • Some exposure to project management would be a plus
  • You have strong MS Office skills, especially in Excel, Power point
  • Some skills in IT/OT, Python and/or Power BI will be considered as an asset
  • You are recognized for your team spirit and capability to get along easily in a multi-cultural team. You can easily communicate with various stakeholders and could develop some negotiation skills
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Some basics in Japanese oral communication would be considered as a plus.
