With the development of future Airbus programs accelerating, Airbus UpNext is launching a new demonstrator. This high-stakes R&T flight platform has a dual mission: deliver flight-proven breakthroughs directly to future Airbus programs, and inject game-changing ideas to reshape how Airbus Commercial builds aircraft for the next 30 years.
Operating as a "startup within the giant, " this program flies a heavily instrumented subsonic demonstrator platform to pioneer advanced flight physics technologies, aiming for a significant block fuel reduction.
Based in Toulouse (Saint Martin) within a flat, fast-paced project organization, this role requires close collaboration with the program management team and technical work package leaders.
It's a limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the delivrable of the demonstrator (estimated end date End of July 2029) , starting ASAP.
The Mission
As the Project Management Officer, you will be the operational, financial, and compliance backbone of this disruptive flight program. Working directly within the Programme Management team, you will orchestrate and secure the complete lifecycle of our budget, over 100 contracts, configuration management, and quality operations.
Your mission is vital: you will cut through complexity, drive multi-disciplinary alignment, and manage a 30-month clock to guarantee the financial health, quality compliance, and on-time delivery of the demonstrator.
What You’ll Own
1. Budget, Forecasting & Risk Management
- Budget, Forecasting & Cost at Completion: Define end-to-end project budget requirements, analyze monthly actuals, and build/challenge financial forecasts to secure an accurate Cost at Completion (EAC) throughout the year.
- WBS, CBS (Work, Cost - Breakdown Structure) Master Ownership: Define the OBS, WBS and Execute the monthly update of the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) file, ensuring strict alignment with the latest Level 2 program schedule in terms of cost phasing.
- Risks & Opportunities (R&Ops) : Drive the proactive identification, mitigation tracking, and financial valuation of project Risks and Opportunities.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and deliver critical budget and on time deliveries KPIs to Work Package (WP) leaders prior to the Program Monthly Review to optimize envelope management.
- Funding: build dossier to get funding from CORAC, perform the follow up
2. Configuration & Quality Management
- Configuration Plan Authority: Own the Configuration Management Plan, monitor and ensure the configuration conformity. Your final deliverable is the certificate of conformity of the flying platform.
- Documentation & Signature: Ensure documents are saved on single repository, and provide signature rules across the program.
- Aircraft Quality Operations: Provide oversight to ensure that all ground and flight operations performed on the aircraft are executed in strict accordance with the approved Quality Plan. Support audits from OSAC (Organisme pour la Securité de l’Aviation Civile)
3. Contract Operations
- Procurement Lifecycle: Steer the creation of new contracts and place Purchase Orders (POs) in ClickNBuy, ensuring perfect synchronization with the master program schedule.
- Invoice & Vendor Management: Monitor and process invoices, validate goods receipts with engineering teams, and oversee the payment lifecycle to guarantee suppliers are paid on time.
- Centralized Governance: Ensure all contractual documents are stored in the same place and provide transparent, regular status reporting to the Programme Manager.
In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with the Work Package leaders, who remain responsible for contract writing, technical application, and direct supplier relationships.
Your Boarding Pass
- Project Management Track Record: Proven experience in aeronautical project management or PMO roles, with a strong background in managing complex budgets and a genuine appetite for data and numbers analysis.
- Financial Challenge & Posture: Demonstrated ability to understand, track, and constructively challenge the financial and contractual needs of technical Work Package leaders.
- Tools & Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools is highly expected: ClickNBuy, Processmaker, E7 Planisware, and absolute mastery of the Google Workspace (GSheet, Slides, etc.) .
- Mindset & Adaptability: Recognized for your high autonomy, solution-oriented mindset, and sharp organizational skills. You are a natural team player, curious, open-minded, and ready to propose simpler, more efficient ways of working.
- Linguistic Versatility & Compliance: Fluent English is mandatory due to our highly international ecosystem and strong worldwide partnerships. A solid understanding of contract mechanisms and Export Control regulations is a significant asset.
