Présentation

Description de l'emploi :

A position of Flight Control Testing - FTI (Flight Test Instrumentation) has just opened within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse. You will join a team within the Flight and Integration Tests center, working in a close-knit binôme with the FTI Leader in charge of Flight Control (ATA 27) system integration testing for all Programmes.
As an operational key player, you will assist the FTI Leader in executing the testing strategy, ensuring the high-quality instrumentation and data integrity required for safe and efficient flight test campaigns. You will contribute to the laboratory, simulator, and flight test environment, focusing on the practical execution and technical reliability of our measurement chains.

Your main tasks & responsibilities:
As the Flight Control Testing FTI, you are the operational right-hand of the FTI Leader. You provide the technical groundwork and daily support required to turn the testing roadmap into reality.

Before Handover to Flight Test:

  • Instrumentation Needs: Define the Measurement Parameter List (MPL) with technical specifications (accuracy, bandwidth, location) and draft the GTRs (Ground Test Requests) to secure necessary slots. Performs GTRs in Plant (sections) & in FAL (Stade, Bremen, Finkenwerder, Getafe, Broughton…)
  • Sensor Validation & Follow-up: Validate measurement points (location, installation plans, etc.) , particularly for actuator force sensors in collaboration with Loads, Stress & Vibrations testing team and the Design Office. Follow up on the planning and execution of pedal position and force sensor calibrations on the aircraft.
  • Data Management: Maintain a live contact list of key stakeholders. Create and update a comprehensive database of calibration coefficients for each parameter and track their status.
  • Preparation Protocols: Establish work protocols for "Work Order checks" to validate proper parameter function and for tracking instrumented actuator serial numbers (S/N) via tools like Amasis / IBIS.
  • Initial Analysis: Analyze GTRs for tapping, flutter, and first taxi tests.

Before First Flight:

  • Parameter Validation: Issue the Validation Technical Note (NT) for all parameters.
  • Ground Analysis: Exploit data from ground and taxi tests to identify signal loss, especially due to vibrations.
  • Final Checks: Identify the location and S/N of instrumented actuators just before the first flight. Set up automated surveillance to analyze data during final ground tests and first taxiing runs.

During and After Flight Tests:

  • Real-Time Analysis: During the first flights, analyze the performance of all parameters to detect any issues like signal loss, calculator handovers, or zero drifts.
  • Operational Maintenance: Ensure the operational readiness of all parameters. This includes setting up automated fault detection tools, analyzing issues within 48 hours of reception, and creating CRIEVS / CARL WO SNAG (in-house issue reports) .
  • Issue Resolution: Manage the resolution process with specific deadlines for coefficient changes (t0 + 7 days) and repairs (t0 + 10 weeks) .
  • Follow-up & Reporting: Manage a validation table to track parameter status "flight by flight." Archive all analysis reports and apply/analyze new Work Orders.
  • Stakeholder Support: Be a primary point of contact for users, providing timely answers to questions and conducting specific studies when requested.

Your boarding pass:

If you are a hands-on, rigorous engineer with a strong appetite for "putting your hands in the aircraft, " we are looking for you! You are the reliable partner the FTI Leader relies on to ensure that every sensor is operational and every data stream is clean. You value precision, you enjoy field work, and you are eager to learn from the complex system of Flight Controls. Your reactivity and capacity to report issues clearly and concisely are key assets for this team.

About you:

  • Operational Reliability: You are highly reliable and meticulous in your work. You understand that the accuracy of a single sensor is critical for the safety of the entire flight test.
  • Collaboration & Support: You thrive in a binôme environment. You communicate fluidly with the FTI Leader, providing constant feedback and alerting them to risks or issues as soon as they arise.
  • Reactivity: You are quick to respond to requests during test campaigns, managing pressure without losing sight of quality requirements.
  • Technical Curiosity: You have a strong desire to understand the "how" and "why" behind instrumentation failures and enjoy finding practical solutions.

About your technical skills:

  • Instrumentation Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of FTI systems, including sensors, data acquisition, and signal processing.
  • System Familiarity: Basic understanding of aircraft systems, with a particular interest in Flight Controls (ATA 27) .
  • Data & Tools: Proficiency in data analysis and handling telemetry data.
  • Scripting: Strong scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) to support daily automation and data processing tasks is a plus.
  • Methods: Rigorous application of work protocols and ability to follow technical documentation (GTRs, installation plans) .

Languages:

  • Advanced level in French and English.

Cet emploi exige une connaissance des risques de conformité potentiels et un engagement à agir avec intégrité, comme base de la réussite, de la réputation et de la croissance durable de la société.
