Context
Additive Manufacturing (AM) has transitioned from a specialized prototyping tool to a core component of "Digital Manufacturing" for repair, spare parts on-demand manufacturing to serial production. The pulling industry segments are by order of current intensity: Defense, Medical, Aerospace, Maritime & Shipbuilding, Oil & Gas and Energy, and Automotive. The whole Metal AM industry is creating new Argon Volume in the Advanced Manufacturing marketplace at a rate of 15% CAGR; this rate is forecast to be sustained through the next 10 years of Industry 4.0 transformation.
While metal powders remain the dominant feedstock for precision parts and tooling (L-PBF process and Binder Jet process) , the industry is increasingly adopting Wire-fed AM for larger structural components due to its superior deposition rates and material efficiency. The sheer rate of its market adoption suggests that within the next decade, it will double the annual volumes of welding gas and filler metal wires) built over the past 70 years of the Gas Metal Arc Welding industry evolution !

Mission: Industry 4.0 Transformation into Digital Manufacturing
As part of the Global Marketing team, you will contribute to the following:
Strategic Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive analysis on the impact on consumables volumes (gas and hardgoods feedstocks) of the adoption maturity and growth forecast by market, by process technology and by feedstock (Powders, Wires and Filaments) , Metals and Plastics. The study needs to map the ecosystem, starting with OEMs of finished assembled products (vehicle, airplane, train, boat, rocket, …) , as well as their top Tier supplier manufacturers, and an assessment of the number of machines sold/year and deployed in use in the field for each of the top OEMs of 3D-Printing Machinery.
Stakeholder Synthesis: Engage with internal experts and external ecosystem actors to create integrated market assessments for gas applications, prioritizing on argon gas applications (powder atomization and wire manufacturing, 3D Printing processes, Heat Treatment) ; and eventually Nitrogen gas application. Segment the applications per gas modes of supply: PG (Cylinders / bundles) ; SkidTank Microbulk ; Bulk.
Strategic Briefing: Prepare high-level briefs and decision-support presentations that evaluate the gap between argon needs intensity by geography vs our current Argon capacity by geography
Value Proposition Development: For each zones (EU, NAM, LATAM, AMEI, China, WAP) , build an AL SWOT analysis and support the creation of marketing materials that highlight Air Liquide’s expertise and offers relevant to Additive Manufacturing practitioners.
Innovation Scouting: Identify and evaluate pain points / delights for best practices in processes, consumables materials, and digitization; as well as identify state of the art and emerging technologies
Regulatory & Policy Monitoring: Actively monitor industry standards and regulations pertaining to Health, Safety, Environment and IP that could impact adoption and profitability.
Etes-vous LA personne faite pour ce poste ?
Fluent in english.
Engineering degree, preferably coupled with business school.
Knowledgeable on manufacturing / metallurgy
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
Ability to work with a high level of autonomy.

The internship will take place in the Innovation Campus Paris, Les Loges en Josas.
