Air Liquide (AL) is the world leader in gasses, technologies and services for industry and health since 1902. Currently AL is present in 60 countries with more than 66, 000 employees. Five R&D sites are located all over the globe. One of them is “K. K. Air Liquide Laboratories (ALL) ” located in AL’s Innovation Campus Tokyo in Yokosuka, Japan.This position will be for a VIE of the Performance Materials group in ALL. He/she will develop AI methodologies in view of designing and similating ALD/CVD precursors. He/she will manage the process of applying latest technologies (e.g. LLMs on-premise or cloud-based) to analyze unstructured documents and transform the extracted information into databases and vector embeddings.
The data is related to thin film deposition processes for both semiconductor and non-semiconductor applications. The VIE will work in a multicultural environment and closely with computer engineers and scientists as well as with internal partners. (https://electronics.airliquide.com/)

Responsibilities:The person is required to be able to:
- Work on the further automatic collection and formatting of physical property dataset of organometallic molecules from analytical tools (NMR, TG, DSC, etc) and documents (Scientific papers, Patents, etc)
- Support the development and maintenance of database solutions for managing structured and unstructured content
- Classification, conversion and modeling of collected dataset for machine learning
- Maintain and document collected and modified dataset and results of learning
- Join an internal safety organization and be in charge of a specific subject
- Good communication and relation skills with multi-national coworkers are required
Must have:
- PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science with a focus on computational, material, physical chemistry and Chemoinformatics.
- Proficiency in programming languages and the use of AI tools.
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively
- Organometallic chemistry education
- Ability to report and present information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work in a team in a multicultural environment
- Well-organized, self-motivated and efficient
- Proficiency with cloud-based machine learning platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS)
- Comfortable with manual system and software provisioning for specialized or non-networked equipment (e.g., configuring environments and resolving dependencies) .
- Highly adaptable and comfortable navigating fluid project environments, including pivoting priorities, exploring new methodologies, and retiring obsolete approaches.
- Adept at handling and interpreting diverse molecular data formats.
- Fluency in Japanese
