Missions
This opportunity is part of the GSE (Ground Service Equipment) Support & Services Department of Airbus which is part of the End to End GSE community (50 organizations including SATAIR, 150 people) . This international department is responsible to design and manufacture tools to support Airlines and MROs (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) in performing inspection and Maintenance Tasks. The GSE business represents over 180M$ revenue per year and is growing fast. It is a dynamic business with a short development lead-time and in constant evolution to always offer to the Customer the best experience. For example, we are expanding the use of Additive manufacturing (AM) in our production. We are also developing and testing further new technologies like connectivity to offer digital maintenance solutions to our Customers.
In this frame, we are looking for a skilled and passionate professional for our Ground Support Equipment team, to be based in Bengaluru, India. This is more than a design role; it's a chance to pioneer the next generation of automated GSE.
Activities & accountabilities
While a mechanical background is a plus, your true expertise will be in the seamless integration of electronics and control systems to build intelligent, automated machines. You will be at the heart of our mission to enhance the efficiency, precision, and safety of aircraft ground operations.
Your main activities will include:
System Specification and Integration: Develop integrated mechatronic systems for GSE, from concept to deployment.
Innovation: identifying opportunities for value creation through robotics, sensor integration, and intelligent control.
Electronics Design: Lead the selection of components, create schematics, and design robust PCBs for control units, sensors, and power systems.
Control & Automation: Develop and program control algorithms (using PLC or microcontrollers) to ensure our GSE operates with precision, safety, and reliability.
Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the testing of electronic and control systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, electronic, and control issues throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with mechanical and operations teams to guarantee seamless integration and functionality across all GSE components.
Documentation: Create comprehensive design documents, from wiring diagrams to control logic flowcharts
