About the job

BOOM is a Sanofi-wide effort to design, implement, and sustain a lean management system in Business Operations, aiming for world-class performance on service, quality, and cost efficiency.

The Head of Continuous Improvement & Process Excellence will oversee the design, rollout, sustainment, and continuous improvement of BOOM.

Responsibilities include developing scalable Lean system components, ensuring consistency across Service Lines, and integrating Lean principles in daily operations across the full BO organization.

The role requires input from multiple stakeholders and coordination through workshops and Gemba presence with Business Operations operational and leadership teams, to evaluate approaches and align on a shared model. It will also ensure integration across Service Lines and Hubs while managing specific local requirements to maximize value.

Key responsibilities:

  • Understand true world class approaches from inside and outside of Sanofi; incorporate these opportunities into the design process
  • During the design phase: ensure that BOOM design is delivered on time and codified effectively balance the drive for world class against the need for practical solutions
  • During the deployment phase: drive the deployment roadmap of BOOM across Towers and Service Lines (with dedicated deployment resources in Hubs) ; ensure consistency of BOOM deployment across Towers and Service Lines; partner with Tower team members to share and learn from best practices
  • Own and drive the continuous improvement of BO Operating standards; drive innovation while ensuring stability in the global design for deploying sites; use impact and value as a condition for refinement inclusion

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Business field with 10+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree a plus
  • Experience in Operational Excellence, design / installation and operation of Lean systems
  • Good understanding of Lean Systems; Lean and Six Sigma a plus
  • Intellectual rigor and flexibility/tenacity to manage design trade-offs; evidence of innovation, problem-solving and structured thinking
  • Practicality to deliver workable solutions, capable of supporting processes from strategy to implementation
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills at various levels; demonstrated track record of leading and influencing organizations and/or teams
  • Proven capabilities in program management; success in executing projects with small & medium teams
  • Strong proficiency in Excel analytics and PowerPoint materials geared for senior site audiences; experience with SAP systems strongly preferred
  • Fluency in English required
