Airbus UpNext is looking for an End-to-end system performances engineer to support the definition and implementation of 5G Non-Terrestrial-Network capabilities based on space platforms.

Our objective is to explore many new technologies and to support the strategic ambitions of Airbus. As such, be prepared for a wild ride, digging into unconventional ways of working, and be ready for many pivots throughout, as we will explore the unknown.

As End-to-end system performances engineer, you are responsible for the performances computations and mission planning operational tool needed to support the 5G NTN communication system.

This position is based in Toulouse, and we will collaborate with teams across Europe and an international partnership landscape.

This job comes with a 3 year CDI-C contract.

Missions:

Passionate and impatient about testing hypotheses and bringing learning into the business based on concrete demonstrations, you are the type of person who thinks about “how things can be done” rather than “if they can be done”.

By being the Mission planning & performances engineer, you will:

  • Compute and consolidate E2E system performances (visibility, availability, link budgets, interferences)
  • Ensure E2E design is compatible with defined performances and regulation constraints
  • Define mission planning concepts to be considered by the system during operations (path plans, demo scheduling) and define associated performances per demo plan
  • Link with partners for the mission planning implementation and equipment specifications
  • Contribute to system validation on radio links (feeder, user) consolidating theoretical performances assessment
  • Support demo operations and compare measured performances w.r.t. expected performances
