You as System Engineer and specialist in the field of electro-magnetic hazard (EMH) within the aircraft systems engineering domain (1YD) will be able to contribute to the definition of aircraft system designs.
You will be involved in all development phases of Aircraft Programs, from the early concept phase, throughout the development and certification of our product lines, up to the in-service support of the flying fleet.
The role offers the chance to work in a multi-cultural, transnational and highly recognized specialist team within the environmental qualification and system standard parts department in the Airbus System Engineering domain.
Your mission will be to influence and trade aircraft architectures and aircraft systems to achieve optimized solutions that are resistant to electro-magnetic induced effects and abnormal environmental conditions.
You will be responsible for the definition and implementation of EMH requirements for new systems including the identification of applicable certification requirements.
You will contribute to aircraft system architectures and will analyse them in regards to EMH protection and will follow-up certification activities within the certification process.
Further you will define the work scope for the EMH related activities, create tasks for internal and sub-contracted partners and will be responsible for the follow-up and steering of the engineering activities.

- You will technically and personally evolve in a highly recognized and transnational department with transverse activities covering the full development cycle from concept through certification, up to in-service support.
- The day-to-day tasks will extend your knowledge in aircraft architecture, the system competence and the understanding of aircraft certification activities and processes.
- You will be responsible in a variety of fields like, electro-magnetic hazards, standardization, electrical architectures, certification, environmental qualification and more providing a conclusive, overall view over the development process
- The variety of your missions will allow you to be in relation with almost all areas and organisations: e.g. programmes, design teams, flight test, experts, certification and more both inside AIRBUS Commercial and cross division (e.g. Airbus Helicoptere, Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Canada) .
Your responsibilities are the following:
- You will define and continuously improve the electromagnetic requirements applicable for the qualification of the systems and you will be as well the reference specialist to cooperate with the system design teams.
- You will validate the compliance of designs against requirements in accordance to the airworthiness regulations
- You will lead advanced studies to answer programme requests and needs or to solve in-service problems on the flying fleet.
- You will create laboratory, ground and flight tests requests and will be responsible for the flight tests analysis and conclusions.
- You will propose, defend and drive R&T projects and develop the electromagnetic hazard protection strategy in accordance to the team R&T strategy and vision
- You will lead certification processes, create certification plans and certification summaries together with the authorities and answer certification review items with dedicated reports and summaries (CRI)
- You will secure and transfer lessons learned from legacy to new developments and establish the foundation framework for the engineering organization by improving our Airbus Build Directives.
Your Boarding Pass
- Engineering background in aeronautical engineering, electrical engineering, physics or similar educations
- Strong electrical and physical understanding
- Experience in Airlines or MRO is an asset
- Desire to continuously learn and evolve personally and technically
- Analytic capability, curiosity and interest in electrical engineering•

- Good communication skills and ability to simplify complexity
- Solution oriented way of working and anticipation mindset

- Negotiation level in English and French
