The ambition of External Manufacturing Procurement is to ensure business continuity while generating exceptional value. As the Head of Non-Solids Technology for CHC External Manufacturing Procurement, you will guarantee that global performance aligns with core principles such as HSE/Sustainability, Quality, the Sanofi Manufacturing System, and Supply. This includes executing strategic initiatives and projects according to plan, encompassing life cycle management, COGS reduction, product launches/switches, and the attraction and development of talent. Your role is integral to a cross-functional team, fostering excellence in execution.

This mission is in harmony with the values, ethical charter, and code of conduct of the Consumer Healthcare (CHC) Business Unit, ensuring a commitment to integrity and excellence.

  • Lead and Cultivate Talent: Spearhead the formation and growth of a highly skilled team, fostering a culture of sharp business insight and a passion for transformative journeys.
  • Strategize and Implement: Craft and execute a comprehensive global strategy for the EM Non-Solids Technology domain, ensuring seamless integration with all CHC Industrial Affairs and Commercial Operations, aligning with the directives of the Science Hub, CSO, and brand strategies.
  • Adherence to Standards: Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, consistently acting in harmony with the Sanofi Code of Conduct, core values, and ethical guidelines.
  • Drive Cost Efficiency: Propel the journey towards significant savings by leveraging all available procurement mechanisms and the Design to Value program. Collaborate with business partners to initiate and advance procurement development, cost of goods sold (COGS) reduction efforts, product launches, and switches.
  • Foster Category Development: Enable end-to-end, consistent, and innovative growth of CHC categories, yielding fruitful outcomes.

Main responsibilities:


Strategy

For the Non-Solids Technology:

  • Develop, implement & execute competitive and innovative Procurement Technology strategies on Non-Solids:

    • based on Procurement CHC EM market intelligence: assessing risks and opportunities

    • Budget & Strategic Plan fully aligned with Business while delivering added value
  • Deliver world class total savings objectives
  • Contribute to the E2E make of buy strategy focusing on the non-solids technology
  • Lead, manage and coordinate the overall collaboration, communication, and interactions with
  • associated Procurement functions (“RemainCo”) and Business Partners (IA – Global Growth Hub - Global Science Hub – Finance – Supply Chain – BD&L)
  • Define, implement and monitor performance KPIs
  • Drive the development of new market opportunities (new suppliers, technologies, substitution products, etc.) aligned with the Procurement EM intelligence and category strategy
  • Integrate sustainability into projects and business decisions
  • Propose e2e procurement relevant strategy to support CHC brands growth and gross margin
  • Ensure Procurement technical excellence (TCO, SRM, Risk Management, CSR, HSE, compliance, quality…)

Contract & Relationship Management

For the Non-Solids Technology:

  • Lead key and strategic negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with master service agreements and/or specific contracts in place
  • Ensure that terms and conditions of master service agreements and/or specific contracts,
  • including the Quality Technical agreement (QTA) and sustainability requirements (BCorp) are met by all parties in the contract
  • Monitor the contract life cycle and proactively manage negotiation phases with involved operational teams (i) in the set-up of a contract or (ii) request of quotation (RFQ) related to a strategic supplier
  • Ensure that risk management assessment and risk mitigation strategies are in place in close collaboration with the Business
  • Set-Up and Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program for the key CMOs in the Non-Solids Technology
  • Lead vendor innovation management

Business Collaboration & Partnering

  • Build and ensure collaborative Business Partnering across the Business Unit internally and across the Supplier/CMO network
  • Build and maintain strong interfaces and collaborations with other departments like finance, legal,
  • Regulatory, business development, licensing, and alliances & partnerships on top of main stakeholder management (Science HUB, IA, CSO, Growth Hub, Quality and Regulatory teams)

People Management

  • Set-up proper resources allocation and means according to technology category’s own objectives as well as business priorities,
  • Manage global buyers and other resources under their responsibility,
  • Ensure procurement management excellence: category team management allocation, lead specifiers collaborative relationship, usage & leverage of procurement academy, talent management,
  • Lead Lean and cash-flow programs (e.g. Agile Flow) for Procurement Direct domain,

Dimensions/Scope

  • Spend: ~ 250M€ p.a.
  • Complexity: Worldwide, 5 regional EM Hubs // 27 CMOs // 560 SKU
  • Stakeholders: Science HUB, Growth Hub, Manufacturing & Supply, CSO, Quality and Regulatory teams
  • Current revenue impact ~500M€

About you

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business, or a related field, and an MBA is preferred.
  • You possess a minimum of seven years of experience in procurement and five years as a manager, such as leading a team of senior buyers, with experience in external manufacturing being mandatory.
  • You have a solid track record of achievements, inclusive of people management experience, and experience in FMCG is mandatory.
  • You demonstrate a solid understanding of both Procurement and Operations; ideally, you have a combination of functional experiences in Manufacturing, SCM, and Procurement.
  • You are experienced in market intelligence and have a focus on Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) .
  • You are fluent in English, with additional languages, particularly French, being a plus, and you bring an international and multi-cultural mindset.
  • You are a proven leader with a strong track record in forming and guiding diverse teams, adept at high-level business interactions and strategic decision-making. Your expertise encompasses comprehensive financial oversight and dynamic communication skills, essential for driving teams toward sustained progress and innovation.
