Missions

The Technology and Industrial Performance Department at Saint-Gobain is seeking a VIE as a Junior Software Engineer to join the AI Smart Factory Team. Our mission is to develop and deploy innovative solutions that transform production sites into smart, efficient, and data-driven environments. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work alongside Engineering and Central R&D teams, and contribute to impactful projects from day one.

Here are some examples of missions that your role will include:
  • Design & Development : Create software solutions tailored for manufacturing environments, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance;
  • Testing & Integration: Validate and integrate solutions to ensure they meet project requirements and are ready for deployment;
  • Documentation & Handover : Prepare comprehensive documentation and transfer validated solutions to the Deployment Team;
  • Collaboration : Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and develop innovative solutions;
  • Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues during development and deployment phases.
This is a 12-month mission, extendable once.
The role follows a hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely up to two days per week.

Profil recherché

If you recognize yourself in the following description, don’t hesitate to apply!
  • Education : Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming Skills : Proficiency in Python, SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) , and experience with any web framework are necessary. Experience with Elixir and knowledge of mobile app development are also required (React, Flutter..) ;
  • Teamwork & Communication : Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English;
  • Adaptability: Quick learner with the ability to pick up new technologies and tools.
Bonus points for:
  • AI Knowledge: Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their integration into applications. Deep technical expertise is not required but highly appreciated;
  • Cloud & Containerization: Knowledge of Azure and Docker;
  • Industrial Systems: Experience or familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Augmented Reality, or other Industry 4.0 technologies.
