Présentation de la société :In conjunction with Head of P&C Japan and Rest of Asia and the region underwriters to underwrite individual treaty contracts, identify opportunities with a client or market, enhancing relationships with cleints.
The job description is for a full-time junior underwriter reporting to the Head of P&C Japan and Rest of Asia based in Singapore and responsible for underwriting, marketing and line of business support for his / her assigned markets. The jobholder will support the Japan and Rest of Asia underwriters on need basis, and on strategic planning and decision making.
Poste et missions :
P&C Treaty Underwriting: Achieve the profitability target of assigned portfolio, in adherence to SCOR’s Underwriting Plan, guidelines and best practices while respecting internal processes (including pricing, CAT Modelling) and risk appetite, to actively steer the assigned portfolio according to primary insurance and reinsurance market environment.
- P&C treaty underwriting as per guidelines and procedures.
- Analysis and management of assigned treaty portfolio: incl. cat exposure monitoring, portfolio profile analysis, pricing & modelling (in conjunction with actuaries and with modelers) activity, identify critical issues and discussing with clients / brokers to resolve and monitor the matter.
- Underwriting plan’s execution in all its dimensions (including new clients / other line of business / deals, underwriting reviews, SCOR P&C internal projects) ;
- Quality control on underwriting and data maintenance including claims and exposure data entered in Omega, Pacman, and other tools as per SCOR P&C procedures.
- Follow up the handling / reserving of large claims in close coordination with claims department.
- In close coordination with Head of Japan and Rest of Asia Rest of Asia and underwriters to drive the portfolio to expand business initiatives launched in the Rest of Asia and Japan markets
- Coordinates, participates, and leads various underwriting / marketing activities (incl. Top Management meetings and global lines coordination)
- is responsible to drive profits from assigned clients for all line of business, via maintaining a high level of technical and commercial relationships with various stakeholders (incl. brokers) , to identify prospects (needs and opportunities) and generate new offers through pro-active marketing.
- Negotiates contract terms on request and within the relevant guidelines for all new and renewal business with cedants and brokers, incl. being able to discuss complex technical matters with a mindset of a solution provider.
- To increase and enhance the weight of lead / private / innovative deals with assigned clients.
- To improve and update information on client’s files in Salesforce.
- Checking of reinsurance slip, treaty wording and endorsements;
- Review of the EGPI and Loss Ratio as per internal control rules;
- KYC, Sanctions and Embargo checks as per legal requirements before the onboarding of new clients and/or inception of treaties underwritten;
Profil recherché
- P&C underwriting (experienced and knowledgeable in property treaty reinsurance underwriting and / or property facultative reinsurance and / or direct property underwriting for commercial / industrial risks) .
- Strong technical understanding and expertise in direct insurance to discuss underwriting issues, risk assessment, risk engineering & control and pricing with underwriters of insurance companies.
- Works from the Singapore office with occasional travel required.
- Good analytical and synthesis skills.
- Pro-active person with excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to navigate and succeed in a complex matrix organization internally and to build strong client relationships externally.
