We’re looking for a PCP Expert to join our team and lead the cost management strategy at vehicle program level, ensuring financial success from initial concept to end-of-life.
Mission:
As the PCP Expert, you will be the vehicle-level cost program manager, responsible for:
- Defining and managing the technical cost and investment targets (the “checkbook”) for the vehicle.
- Leading the cost definition and tracking process for all components.
- Acting as the main contact for Purchasing teams during sourcing, ensuring targets are aligned and achievable.
- Managing all cost changes using the corporate change management process.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams and senior management to ensure alignment of technical and financial strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop component-level cost targets from vehicle top-down budgets.
- Apply reference vehicle data and Low-Cost Country (LCC) savings to component Bill of Materials (EBOM) .
- Analyze vehicle by system and subsystem: Body, Chassis, Powertrain, HVAC, Suspension, etc.
- Understand part breakdowns and assembly processes to drive design-to-cost initiatives.
- Organize components by functional purpose and challenge designs to meet cost targets.
- Lead governance reviews, cost tracking reports, and sourcing milestone meetings.
Critical Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Total Production Cost (TPC) and automotive propulsion systems & components.
- Experience with costbook management tools such as ex-P tools: Harpagon, Privee, and Intercom.
- Strong understanding of vehicle construction and assembly by major systems and subsystems.
- Ability to propose design alternatives that meet cost targets.
- Strong capability to manage cross-functional reviews and communicate with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in cost analysis tools and reporting systems (Fastcar2 preferred) .
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1) , with expertise in:
- Engineering or Vehicle Program Management (Technical or Financial) .
- Engineering Design and Development.
- Advanced technical or management degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial terminology and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) .
- Ability to present ideas and lead discussions at all organizational levels.
