To strengthen our CAPEX & Engineering Department for Europe, based in Limelette, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Junior Industrial Project Engineer (VIE) .

About the role

As a Junior Industrial Project Engineer (VIE) , you will report to our Engineering Director, Europe and be part of the CAPEX & ENGINEERING Team, Europe. You will be responsible for developing, deploying, and sustaining an Improvement plan focused on upscaling Industrial Engineering Performance with a special emphasis on the large CAPEX projects of the Group, and in particular the ones to be developed in France. You will also work closely with the Process Engineering Manager on Industrial Projects to define their basis of design including the process safety aspect.

Your role and responsibilities:

Support the Engineering Director, Europe to implement, and monitor a comprehensive improvement Plan aimed at enhancing Industrial Engineering performance across Lhoist Europe, and for the Lhoist South Europe Division managed directly from Grenoble, France.

Define the KPIs for measuring the past project performances and determining the mid and long terms targets for the future projects.

Define a process safety guide to choose the suitable methods for conducting process safety risk analysis for a new facility (project) or existing facility.

Propose an execution plan for delivering specific trainings aiming to reinforce Project management skills (Contract management, negotiation…) and technical Expertise (QHSE, Cost estimate and control, …) .

Prepare the communication strategy and visual management for the deployment of the plan.

Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the Improvement Plan.

Profil recherché

Master’s in Chemical and/or Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field with a strong focus on Industrial management.

Good knowledge of the principles of project management for Industrial processes. Familiarity with Process safety principles and tools is a plus.

Willingness to work in a corporate industrial engineering environment.

Good knowledge in MS Excel.

Respecting deadlines and delivering tasks and projects on time.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Proactive and results-oriented approach with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Full working proficiency in English is a must, French is a plus
