About the role
The non-ferrous team at Lhoist’s BIC works on all technical applications related to Lhoist’s gold, copper, alumina, and lithium customers. However, this VIE role and project will focus on the technical and laboratory aspects of lithium processing, relevant to the rapidly emerging market opportunities relevant to France, where Lhoist has several lime plants and is well-positioned to service this market. A secondary component of the role will involve market intelligence desktop activities, providing commercially oriented experience with a broader set of non-ferrous market commodities, including copper, gold, alumina, nickel, and lithium.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Slaked lime preparation and monitoring,
- Batch and continuous hydrometallurgical lithium processing reactions utilizing lime (CaO) reagents,
- Data interpretation, reporting, and presentation to internal or external customers as required,
- Gathering market intelligence and extracting the most actionable business information relevant to business units in Europe, including France,
- Working within a globally dispersed team across different time zones.

Profil recherché
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Hydrometallurgical Processing
- Enjoy and be proficient at wet chemistry/hydrometallurgy
- Willingness to develop, learn, and be a strong team player
- Ability to work as part of a team and being independent when necessary
- Ability to work within a non-regimented environment and develop into the role
- Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly learn new software
- You have full professional proficiency in English. French or another language is a plus.
