The Technology and Industrial Performance Department at Saint-Gobain is seeking a VIE as a Junior Software Engineer to join the Metriks Team. Our mission is to develop and deploy innovative solutions that transform production sites into smart, efficient, and data-driven environments.In this role, you will tackle real-world challenges on the operational floor, collaborate with Engineering and Central R&D teams, and gain hands-on industry experience. You will contribute both as an individual and as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
The missions your role might include:
- Design & Development : Create software solutions tailored for manufacturing environments, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance;
- Testing & Integration: Validate and integrate solutions to ensure they meet project requirements and are ready for deployment;
- Documentation & Handover : Prepare comprehensive documentation and transfer validated solutions to the Deployment Team;
- Collaboration : Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and develop innovative solutions;
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve issues during development and deployment phases.
The role follows a hybrid work model, allowing you to work remotely up to two days per week

If you’re eager to make an impact in the manufacturing sector and you recognize yourself in the following description, don’t hesitate to apply!- Education : Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another Engineering degree with related specialization.
- Programming Skills : Proficiency in Python, and SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) . Additional programming skills are a plus.
- Web UI Apps : Experience in any frontend application development such as Vue.js or Angular is essential as it will enable them to understand UX/UI requirements.
- Teamwork & Communication : Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Adaptability: Quick learner with the ability to pick up new technologies and tools.
- Cloud & Containerization: Knowledge of Azure and Docker.
- Industrial Systems: Experience or familiarity with Ignition SCADA, or other Industry 4.0 technologies.
- A first exposure to a Manufacturing environment: Understanding of production lines, industrial systems, and smart factory concepts
