An opportunity for a VIE Structure Repair Engineer (m/f) – Workflow Manager - has arisen within the Fuselage Daily Repairs team at Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Wichita Engineering antenna (US, Kansas) .
As the selected candidate, you will be based in Wichita - US, Kansas.
Your contract will be for a duration of 18 months.
Poste et missions :
As workflow manager you will be responsible for the distribution & follow-up of customer queries within your engineering centre.
This is a key role for the repair engineering teams in the frame of our 24/7 support involving Airbus European and Offshore centres and subcontractors around the world.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include for daily operations:
Assessing the customer daily queries with respect to data completeness, workload, complexity, queries that can be steered from global inflow or allocated by other teams.
Allocating them to the appropriate team members and suppliers, anticipating impacts on target dates in line with respective office hours of each.
Monitoring progress and ensuring On Time Delivery is met.
Defining priorities in cooperation with European Workflow Managers, Customer Services and Airworthiness Office departments under “watchtower” concept.
Supporting team capacity daily assessment, anticipating critical gaps and/or alerting line manager and partners.
?On top you will also be in charge to support the Head of Fuselage Daily Repair with the following activities:
Agreeing activities in terms of volume and major milestones with relevant stakeholders (yearly plan) and steering the volume of queries to ensure commitment is met.
Securing the yearly resource planning matches the capacity need considering workload assumptions from Customer Services and general phases throughout the year, e.g. minimum workforce available for EoY break.
Identifying and leading improvement initiatives to the workflow process looking for transverse harmonization.
Measuring the key performance indicators such as OTD (On Time Delivery) and RFT (Right First Time = On quality Delivery) , effort per unit to anticipate cost relevant effects, triggering relevant root cause assessments and corrective actions in case of deviation and/or anticipation of changes
Profil recherché
As the successful candidate you are able to demonstrate the following skills and competences:Holds a Mechanical Engineering degree
Understanding of Design and Stress Analysis
Knowledge in Aircraft structure
In addition you are showing the following abilities:
Ability to perform in a high pressure reactive environment and to quickly make decisions
Ability to interface with others and discuss technical matters clearly and simply
Ability to collaborate well within a team, to work independently when required
Customer mindset and solution oriented
Good communication and influencing skills
Negotiation level in English is mandatory
